Penile implant in Dubai: a penile implant, also called a penile prosthesis, is a medical device that a surgeon places inside the erection chambers of the penis to treat erectile dysfunction. There are two types:
- Inflatable implant: two cylinders in the penis, a small pump in the scrotum and a fluid reservoir in the lower abdomen. You press the pump to fill the cylinders and get an erection, and press a release valve to let it go down.

What is a penile implant?

How long does a penile implant last?
Many years. In a study of 2,384 inflatable implants, about 60% were still working without further surgery after 15 years, and newer models have done better. An implant that wears out can be replaced.
Is penile implant surgery safe?
Penile implant surgery has known risks, and the two your surgeon works hardest to prevent are infection and mechanical failure. Infection affects about 1 to 3% of first implants and can mean the implant has to be removed; smoking and poorly controlled diabetes raise that risk. Other risks include some shortening, a change in sensation or shape of the penis, and injury to nearby tissue.
Is penile implant surgery painful?
You feel nothing during penile implant surgery, because you are under general or spinal anesthesia. Afterwards expect soreness and swelling, with mild discomfort that can last several weeks; your surgeon prescribes medicine to keep you comfortable.
Who is a good candidate for a penile implant?
