Phalloplasty Clinic in Dubai

Your Phalloplasty Surgeon in Dubai

  1. You meet your surgeon before anything is booked. Your phalloplasty is planned with your surgeon at our DHA-licensed clinic in Jumeirah.
  2. Phalloplasty is team surgery, usually shared by a plastic surgeon and a urologist. Your surgeon tells you who is on your team and where each stage takes place.

Living without a penis, or with one that no longer works after cancer surgery, an accident or a condition you were born with, is hard to talk about. Phalloplasty in Dubai builds a new penis from your own tissue, so you can pass urine standing up and, after a later stage, have sex. Perfect Doctors Clinic is a phalloplasty clinic where your phalloplasty surgeon plans every stage with you.

Phalloplasty is one of our plastic surgery procedures for men.

What Phalloplasty Is, and What It Is Not

Phalloplasty is surgery that builds a new penis, or rebuilds one, from a flap of your own skin, fat, nerves and blood vessels, usually taken from the forearm or the thigh.

Men need it when the penis has been lost or badly damaged by cancer surgery, an accident or a severe infection, or when it never formed fully at birth, as with a very small penis (micropenis), no penis at all (aphallia) or bladder exstrophy. If part of your penis remains, a smaller operation may be enough, and your surgeon will tell you so.

What phalloplasty can give you:

  • A penis that looks natural, in clothes and undressed.
  • A new urethra inside it, so you can pass urine standing up.
  • Feeling, because nerves in the flap are joined to nerves in your groin.
  • Erections for sex, once a penile implant is added in a later operation.

What phalloplasty is not: it is not penis enlargement. Making a healthy penis longer or thicker is a different and much smaller procedure, with its own consultation. Medical papers call that augmentation phalloplasty; on this page, phalloplasty means building or rebuilding the penis.

Phalloplasty Before and After Photos

Phalloplasty photos are intimate, so we do not publish them on this page. Ask your surgeon to show you before-and-after photos at your consultation. Your own result depends on your body, the flap your surgeon uses and the stages you choose.

Phalloplasty: Your Questions Answered

What is phalloplasty?

Phalloplasty is surgery that builds or rebuilds a penis from a flap of your own tissue, usually taken from the forearm or the thigh. For men, it is done after cancer surgery or an injury, or for a penis that never formed fully at birth.

Why is phalloplasty done?

Phalloplasty is done when a man has lost his penis, or most of it, or was born without one that works. The causes include surgery for penile cancer, accidents, severe infections, micropenis, aphallia and bladder exstrophy, and heavy scarring after an infected penile implant had to be removed.

What does phalloplasty do?

Phalloplasty gives you a penis that lets you pass urine standing up, feel touch and, once an implant is added, have penetrative sex. It does not make a healthy penis bigger; that is penis enlargement, a different procedure.

How many surgeries is phalloplasty?

Most men need at least two operations, several months apart. The first builds the penis; a later one can shape the tip and add an erection implant, usually at least a year after the first, once feeling has come back. Some men need a further operation to repair a narrowing or a leak in the new urethra.

How long does phalloplasty take?

The first and main operation takes most of a day, around five to seven and a half hours, under general anesthesia. You then stay in hospital for about 8 to 10 days, so the blood flow to the new penis can be checked closely.

Where does the skin for phalloplasty come from?

The skin usually comes from your forearm or the front of your thigh, together with its nerves and blood vessels. A forearm flap gives good feeling and usually a good look, but leaves a scar on the arm that is covered with a skin graft; a thigh flap can give more length, and its scar can be hidden by shorts.

How do you pee after phalloplasty?

You pee standing up, through a new urethra built inside the penis and joined to your own. While it heals you have a catheter. Narrowing or small leaks along the new urethra happen in around 3 in 10 men, and they can almost always be repaired.

Can you get an erection after phalloplasty?

Not by itself: a rebuilt penis has no erectile tissue, so erections come from an implant added in a later operation, usually at least a year after the first. Implants in a rebuilt penis have high rates of infection and wear, and some need replacing over the years.

Does phalloplasty have sensation?

Most men regain feeling in the new penis, because nerves in the flap are joined to nerves in the groin. Feeling comes back slowly over months; in one study of men rebuilt after penile cancer, up to 86% had feeling in the new penis.

Can you ejaculate after phalloplasty?

Usually yes, when the new urethra is joined to your own. In a study of men rebuilt after losing the penis in an injury, every man who had the full urethra made could pass urine and ejaculate from the tip.

Does phalloplasty look real?

It can look natural, in clothes and undressed. In studies of men rebuilt after cancer, an injury or a condition from birth, most were satisfied with how the penis looks and with its size; the scar where the flap was taken is the main drawback.

How long does it take to recover from phalloplasty?

Most men go back to work after two to three months, later if the job is physical. Completing every stage, including an erection implant, usually takes a year or more.

Is phalloplasty safe?

Phalloplasty is major surgery and complications are common, but most of them can be repaired. The most common are narrowing or leaks in the new urethra; the most serious is a clot in the joined blood vessels, which is why you are watched closely in hospital. Smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity raise the risk, so your surgeon checks these first.
